Mr. Nieman is a former state prosecutor with extensive trial experience in complex criminal litigation. Prior to joining Woods, Weidenmiller, Michetti & Rudnick, Mr. Nieman served as Compliance Counsel to the County Manager in Collier County overseeing its ethics and compliance program. Mr. Nieman also served as a prosecutor in New York, Michigan, and Florida litigating highly complex felony offenses including murder, RICO, home invasion, drug trafficking, armed robbery, human trafficking and domestic violence.
Mr. Nieman is licensed to practice law in Florida, Michigan, New York, and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Collier County Bar Association, The Federalist Society, NAACP, Captains for Clean Water, and Gulf Coast Runners. Mr. Nieman is a past member of the Human Trafficking Taskforce, Prosecuting Association of Michigan, Collier County Domestic Violence Taskforce, Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team, and Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Nieman served as a volunteer judge for Moot Court Competitions at Ave Marie Law School and the regional High School finals in Fort Myers.
Mr. Nieman received his BA in Political Science from The American University (Washington DC) in 1995 and his JD from New York Law School (NYC) in 1999.
Mr. Nieman and his wife Denise, also a local attorney, live in Naples with his step-son and son. Mr. Nieman and his family are active members of the Seacrest Country Day School and the Greater Naples Little League.
