At the BEAR Office in the Bernwood Office Park…
As real estate agents, you maintain and improve your livelihood through the receipt of commissions on real estate transactions. Therefore, you must be prepared to adequately protect your commissions. Protect against what? How about buyers and sellers you bring together who proceed to avoid you and complete a transaction without paying the commission? Or individuals who employ the “squeeze” tactic in which you’re told near closing that because of problems, the transaction won’t close unless everyone compromises. This means, of course, that you’re expected to concede part of your commission.
- Review of Standard Listing Agreement provisions concerning compensation
- Knowing your rights with regards to commissions earned
- Protecting Commissions against the unscrupulous seller
- Protecting Commissions against the “bad” agent
Michael Michetti and Jay Caudill and members of our litigation team will discuss ways to protect your commissions and collect commissions in the event they go wrongfully unpaid.
